electronic engineersDFR was appointed in 2009 to design the total integrated technical security solution for the Bank of Namibia.  This was an existing building and the existing electronic security systems needed replacement and upgrading to latest technological standards.
The team of DFR Engineers was required to conduct comprehensive status analysis and submit various alternatives for the upgrading and extension of the existing systems.
The Disaster Recovery Site is a multi-discipline New Building.  DFR Engineers was selected as the Technical Security Consultant Engineers and our Scope included:
• Access Control Systems including Card Issuing System
• Integrated IP CCTV Camera System
• New Intruder Detection Systems
• Fire Detection System
• Public Address and Evacuation Systems
• Electric Fence with Monitoring
• Door Monitoring System
• X-Ray Scanners, Walk Through Metal Detectors, Man Trap Personnel Locks
• Hydraulic Vehicle Barriers, Vehicle Access and Egress Booms
• Dedicated Network, Servers and Management PCs
• Control PCs with ancillaries and printers for remote control rooms and management stations
• Independent Security Network and Firewalling to the Bank’s ICT Network
• New Gatehouse, Control Room and Equipment Room facilities
• New dedicated static UPS for Control Room
• Electrical verification, extension where required and certification to confirm UPS power to all field devices
• Electrical installation to confirm Generator supply to new UPS
• Integration of all systems
• Complete Programme, testing and commissioning
• Certification of the works
• Training of Client’s maintenance and operational staff
• 12 Month defects liability
• As-built drawings and maintenance manuals

This advanced project included the following aspects:
• Redesign of existing control room
• High end digital recording
• CCTV System with cameras
• Access control system and associated system interlocks in delivery and dispatch areas – interfacing with existing electro/mechanical doors and gates
• High security intercom system
• Digital fire detection and evacuation system
